FILLED BREADS

Who doesn't like stuffed breads?
Â
In our house it is one of the fastest disappearing things on the buffet table!
The meat mixture can be made weeks in advance and frozen. My mother would go so far as to stuff the loaves and freeze them. At night, she would place the frozen loaves on a cookie sheet and they would be perfect.
INGREDIENTS
2 lbs. ground veal
2 tbsp. of Baked Bread Mix
3/4 cup ketchup (regular or sugar-free)
2 tbsp. yellow mustard
½ onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
½ cup water or chicken broth.
Salt and pepper
Â
PREPARATION
Â
In a frying pan, brown onions for a few minutes, add garlic and meat for about 4-5 minutes. Add seasonings, ketchup, mustard and water or chicken broth. Let simmer for about 15 minutes on low heat.
Â
Stuff the loaves and bake at 400 for about 10 minutes.
Â
You can decorate with small pieces of red peppers and green onions for a Christmas look!
