A beautiful, healthy recipe for homemade granola with a spicy twist.
3 cups of nut pieces and seeds
2 egg whites
1 to 2 tablespoons of the mixture for cocoa-turmeric latte or for golden milk
2 tbsp. caramel essence
1/4 cup brown sugar of your choice
1 pinch of salt
In a large bowl, beat egg whites with an electric mixer or whisk until stiff.
Add cocoa-turmeric latte mix or golden milk mix, nuts and seeds, brown sugar, caramel essence and pinch of salt.
Using a spatula, gently mix all ingredients.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the mixture roughly, so that there are clumps of nuts.
Bake at 325 for about 15 minutes, but check every 5 minutes to avoid burning.
Allow to cool completely before handling so that the nut clusters set together.
You can serve the granola over yogurt. We like to put golden milk in a plain yogurt with a sweetener of our choice. It's a nice way to get all the benefits of golden milk without making it into a hot drink.
